Hazelfest #2 - our very own festival!
Our second 'Hazelfest' - mini green festival - on Hazelhurst Estate where we are based in Tooting was a huge success on Sunday 20th May. We were beyond thrilled to attract around 500 local Summerstown residents with our relaxed festival vibe. The event was even better than last year and we were delighted to again be part of Wandsworth Arts Fringe.
The sun shone on the tower blocks as the estate was brought alive with a huge range of free arts and crafts activities, live dance and music performances, circus acts and participatory street art. The area in front of Hayesend House tower was transformed into a hive of activity with the King of Bling, giant bubbles, balloon modelling on stilts, making, painting and creating...by people representing all different parts of our London community - young and old and all heritages, cultures and backgrounds. Everyone got into the 'Hazelfest spirit' by celebrating the joy of being together and getting creative.
We must give huge thanks to all of the performance and artistic contributors for their support and time:

The Gemini Dancers of Earlsfield
Joseph Lofthouse - voice and guitar

We were delighted to provide a platform for local artists, community groups and charities who may not otherwise have had the resources to promote what they do or the opportunities for such creative output. We are super-excited about the continuation of many of the projects in progress at the event...watch this space for more information...
