Susan retires!
We had a gorgeous tea party on 17th April to congratulate Susan Poston upon her retirement from the Scrapstore. Lots of friends old and new came along to see Susan off with gorgeous handmade gifts (by Teresa, Berit, Gill and Freyja) and homemade banana cake and cookies (thanks Catherine and Berit!)
It was a great send off and we were lucky to have Chuck from Transition Town Tooting running a workshop at the same time to make 'signs of welcome' out of upcycled materials for those new to London. Our lovely visitor Akira Ichii from the Nagoya Institute of Technology - who would like to open his own Scrapstore in Japan! - joined in with all the fun.
Susan was a founder member of Work and Play 30 years ago and has worked tirelessly through its various phases of development and change. She has been a volunteer, a Trustee and a Director of the Scrapstore and undertook a long stint as our Honorary Treasurer. We are most grateful to Susan for her tireless commitment and contribution to the Scrapstore. We do hope that she will continue to support us at our special events and drop in from time-to-time for a cuppa and a chat!
