Speaker's House event

On January 14 we were delighted to attend Sadiq Khan MP's event in the State Rooms of the Speaker's House in Parliament. Sadiq Khan hosted the event to celebrate the fantastic work of community organisations within Tooting, and it offered a great opportunity to network with other organisations that operate in the Wandsworth area. Speaker's House contains magnificent rooms full of wonderful paintings and impressive furniture - such as the Monarch's bed!

Our trustees Eve and Richard went along to represent the Scrapstore. They had a opportunity to speak with representatives from other community groups, meet Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of Wandsworth, and John Bercow MP (current Speaker of the House of Commons) even popped down from his flat upstairs to speak to the attendees!

It was lovely to meet so many wonderful people, many of whom are volunteers. It was a great reminder of all the hard work and passion of our lovely volunteers at the Scrapstore.
